To Kill a Mockingbird

For this project, I was invigorated to re-design a book cover of Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird. I heavily leaned on an illustration to artistically depict the book’s dramatic, yet deeply moving quality. A mockingbird strangled in tree branches with child-like handwriting expresses our young protagonist, Scout’s raw experience of human behavior – to innocence and sophistication, kindness and cruelty, love and hatred, humor and pathos.
